Cycle of life of the Pacific Northwest Salmon

Cycle of life of the Pacific Northwest Salmon

While on a yearly visit to observe the Pacific Northwest migrating salmon, this scene struck me with the rich colors of the stream environment with the fading, and almost glowing colors of the fish as its body rests against the rock. Now the salmon moves on to the next stage of its life cycle to feed and nourish the environment around it.

I think that this goat and I were both suprised when it walked out of the trees. We just stared at each other, while it was only for a few minutes, it felt like hours.

I look forward to meeting this friend again on my next visit to Glacier National Park.

The Canada Jay captured here in the North Cascades National Park. Also known affectionately as the camp robber, they are quick to welcome you to the forest with their willingness to fly right into camp and share your food.
